How-To Make A Sock | Knit



**This Sock can fit the following sizes***
UK 4-6
US 6-8
EURO 36-39
MEASUREMENT IN SIZES
Inches 8.8 - 9.5
CM 22.5 - 24.1

What you'll need

4 3.75 mm DPNs ( For some parts you can use single ended needles)
2 50g DK (Light Worsted Weight) Yarn


Cast on 42 sts

Rows 1 and 2 K2, P2

Change colour

Row 3 K2, P2
Rows 4-8 Knit all

Slip 8 sts from the 2nd needle onto the 3rd needle (22 sts)  These sts will be used for the heel. Slip the the remaining 20 sts on to 1 needle, these will be used for the instep.

Working with the 22 sts for the heel, complete the stockinette st for about 5cm ending with the purl row (13 rows) Change colour on your last row

Decreasing The Heel

Row 1 K14, s1, K1, psso, leave the last 6 sts on the LH needle. Turn
Row 2 P7, P2tog. leave the last 6 sts on the LH needle. Turn
Row 3 K7, s1, K1, psso, Turn
Row 4 P7, P2tog, Turn

Repeat rows 3 and 4 until you have 8 sts remaining

Change Colour

Row 1 K8, Pick up 10 sts, K20, With another needle Pick up 10 sts, With the 3rd needle K4 sts from the first needle, pm (48) (3 needles)
Row 2 Knit all
Rows 3-5  Knit to the third st before the end of your first needle, K2tog, K22, sl 1, K1, psso, Knit to the end of row (40)

Knit until 19cm (30 rows)

Change Colour

Rows 1-6  Knit to the third st before the end of your first needle, K2tog, K22, sl 1, K1, psso, Knit to the end of row (30)

Divide the sts equally between the needles (10 sts on each)

K2tog at each end of every needle on every round until you have 2 sts left on each needle.

cut yarn and weave the tail through the last sts
